Droitwich Police have been cracking down on traffic crime

Droitwich Editorial 24th Mar, 2018   0

DROITWICH Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) has been working with the community to crack down on traffic crime.

Over the past two months nine vehicles have been reported for speeding, ten were seized for having no insurance and three were fined and reported to the DVLA for having no tax.

The speeding vehicles were caught on Tagwell Road, Westwood Road, Crowle, Church Lench and the A38.

It follows residents raising concerns over motorists speeding, using mobile phones whilst driving, not wearing seatbelts and not having the correct documents, such as insurance and tax.

Droitwich SNT has been educating motorists on these dangers.

A spokesperson for Droitwich SNT, said: “I’m sure we could all think of a time where we’ve seen a driver whose driving is below the standard we expect, especially when it comes to speed and perhaps even thought to ourselves ‘they’re going to hurt or kill someone driving like that’.

“Enforcement for these types of traffic-related offences often lend themselves to criticism from some members of the public, we would urge those people to consider the reasons behind the enforcement which are ultimately to prevent road deaths.”
