A DROITWICH pub has embraced the nation’s love of Brummie TV drama The Peaky Blinders by creating a menu based on the popular series.
The Gardeners Arms’ Peaky Blinders Shelby’s Family Menu enables families to choose four of six dishes for their get-together.
Among the meals offered are Gangs Stew, Bell Bottom Beef, Sloggers Lamb, Peaky Pie, Blinders Pie and Shelby Pie.
Gangs Stew – Bacon, chicken, pork, pears, cooked in a chive cider and John Wheeley Lea and William Henry Perrins sauce gravy dumpling.
Bell Bottom Beef – Feathered beef cooked in a red wine gravy jus.
Sloggers Lamb – Lamb shank in a fennel, chickpea red wine sauce.
Peaky Pie – Local wild rabbit, with smoked bacon cooked in a Peaky Blinders Irish Whiskey mustard sauce gravy.
Blinders Pie – Steak, with onions cooked in rich Peaky Blinders Pale Ale gravy sauce.
Shelby Pie – Estate game with portobello mushrooms, blackberry filling red wine sauce.
Each one is served with a choice of garlic, mustard or pepper mash, fresh vegetables and gravy.
There is also a similar Italian family menu which the pub has been working with New York Italian restaurants on.
Capesante in Padella – Scallops, cooked with poached apples, hazelnut, cipolle fritte onions, served on a frig balsamic relish spoon smear garnish.
Terra Mare Del Tavoliere – Grilled dusted squid strips, fried in lemon juice crack black pepper basil served on a roasted peppers almonds paste spoon smear garnish.
Italica Gamberi – Prawns cooked in a tomato prosecco pasto, served on a Porcini mushroom with truffle flavoured oil spoon smear garnish.
Salmone con Senape al Miele – Pan-seared salmon fillet, cooked in a Prosecco wine, salsa senape Italian mustard sauce.
Polpetta Italiana – Hand rolled beef and pancetta ham meatballs pan fried in a traditional New York onion, oregano, garlic, tomato, olive oil, with a splash of Chianti Anforio red wine, marinara sauce.
Salsiccie – Sautéed, sweet and hot sausage, red peppers, onions, funghi piatti red wine herb sauce.
Scarpariello – Diced chicken breast sauteed within a delectable garlic, rosemary, olive oil and a white wine sauce.
Manzo Italiano – Diced Beef chunks cooked in a rich marinara tomatoes, onion, cloves garlic, oregano, crack pepper olive oil with a splash of Napoleon brandy sauce.
The set meals are £12.
Landlord Simon Berry said: “The Shelbys always gather for family dinner s where they would discuss matters and business so we thought we would replicate this with the new menu.”
Sadlers’ Peaky Blinders pale ale is also on offer, along with an Italian family menu.
The Peaky Blinders won a BAFTA award in May last year and shops have reported an increase in the sales of flat caps since the show hit our screens.
