MORE THAN a hundred students at Droitwich Spa High School took part in a safer driving event.
Organised by Chris Jelfs at Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service in Droitwich in collaboration with the Safer Roads Partnership, students undertook a variety of activities and watched several demonstrations.
Designed to show the dangers of driving, the fire service presented a full Road Traffic Collision simulation, demonstrating the work of emergency services at the scene of a fatal collision.
Fire officers used cutting gear to extricate a simulated seriously injured driver and removed a simulated fatally injured passenger.
Students also had the opportunity to try out a Motorway Police driving simulator in order to recognise potential dangers on the road.
