RESIDENTS young and old across Droitwich did their bit for Comic Relief last week with a host of activities.
Westacre Middle School in Droitwich held a sing-along session with Worcestershire Rock Choir leader Helen Jones and the entire school also completed a fun run.
They have raised £121.
Barclays Bank in Droitwich hosted a cake sale with all the delights having been baked by the staff. Employees raised £215.80 which, with match-funding from Barclays, took the total to £431.60.
Paula Knight from Barclays in Droitwich said: “Our customers, as always, have been extremely generous – some even giving a donation without taking a cake.”
Beautician Laura Eckley, from Droitwich, wore her red nose all day for her clients as she carried out manicures and pedicures. Her son Rhys, seven, who attends Westlands First School, wore red clothes and participated in sports activities at school.
Employees from Bullivant Media, publishers of the Bromsgrove and Droitwich Standard, wore red for the day and put on red noses to join in with the Comic Relief fun.
