DROITWICH residents will be able to see all their councillors under one roof as part of their Meet Your Council Programme.
The event will take place at Droitwich Library, Victoria Square, between 10am and 1pm on November 19.
Among those taking part will be Coun Roy Murphy (Droitwich Spa Central), Coun Karen Tomalin and Coun Bob Brookes (Droitwich Spa East), Coun Maureen Lawley and Coun Richard Morris (Droitwich Spa South East), Coun Graham Beale and Coun Tom Noyes (Droitwich Spa South West), and Coun Jan Bolton and Coun George Duffy (Droitwich Spa West).
Coun Bob Brookes, who suggested the event, said: “It’s vital that people let us know what we’re doing well and what we could do better – that way we can always make sure we’re delivering the services they want and that we’re supporting them in the right way.
“Last year we met nearly 60 people at the event and received lots of positive feedback about the town and its parks and open spaces. But we also heard concerns about dog mess, fly-tipping, cycle routes and pavements.
“Where we were able to deal directly with issues that we’re responsible for – such as street cleansing – we did so. And for those issues that fell to others such as the County Council or local housing associations, we were able to raise these issues directly with them on behalf of our residents.”
Coun Richard Morris, added: “Every district councillor is committed to making Droitwich a prosperous and vibrant place full of happy, healthy and active people, so come along on November 19 and let us know how we’re doing or how we can help.”
Tracy Perkins, Localism and Communities Officer at Wychavon District Council, said: “This is the second time we’ve done an event like this, where every councillor for one of our major towns will be present.
“This is a great opportunity for people to come and chat to their councillor and our officers – without the need to make an appointment – and raise any issues or concerns they may have about the services we provide.”
