Droitwich Rotary Club and Pamela May get Challengers Club members out on the town's waterways

MEMBERS of the Droitwich Challengers Gateway Club have enjoyed three evening trips on the town’s waterways, thanks to the Pamela May canal boat and a town good causes group.

The Challengers Gateway Club meets once a week to provide social interaction for adults with learning opportunities and two of the canal trips were sponsored by the Droitwich Rotary Club.

The events enabled the participants to experience the pleasure of canal cruising.

The Droitwich Rotary Club has also organised similar outings with other organisations, such as care homes and day centres.

The club’s president Jim Gillespie told the Standard: “It’s fantastic for our club to be involved with the trips on the Pamela May – it’s such a rewarding experience.

“When you see the faces of the people on the boat, you can tell the experience is a real joy to them.”

The Pamela May can be booked for group trips by emailing bookings @pamelamay.org.uk or by calling 07938 571809. Alternatively visit http://www.droitwichcanals.co.uk/ and follow the link to the ‘Pamela May’ for more.
