Droitwich Editorial 19th Jul, 2019

DROITWICH Salvation Army has been recognised for its luncheon clubs which help combat loneliness in the community, writes Roman Filkin.

The organisation was awarded a ‘Friendly and Welcoming Group’ accolade from Reconnections.

Its citation said the branch went out of its way to make people feel welcome and included, especially when they were new to the group,

Droitwich Salvation Army runs two weekly lunch clubs and a friendship group, all made possible by volunteers.

They are aimed at reducing isolation and encouraging participants to meet new people.
