THE SANTA Sleigh and Grotto operated by Droitwich Lions raised a fantastic £4,000 for the club’s welfare fund.
Lion President Dave Jepson said: “This is a fantastic sum and is the best ever as far as I can recall.
“The people of Droitwich have been exceptionally generous once again.
“It was great to see so many children, and all the adults too.”
He also thanked volunteer drivers who, he said, withoug it would not have been possible.
And he praised the Young Firefighters, the town’s cricket club, friends, neighbours, non-Lions and The Standard for helping publicise the drive.
“On behalf of Lions May I wish everybody a Merry Christmas and a happy and prosperous new year,” he added.
