THIS stunning picture of Pipers Hill and Dodderhill Common nature reserve, captured by Droitwich photographer Robin Couchman, is one of 12 selected by Worcestershire Wildlife Trust for its 2017 calendar.
He entered the picture of the Hanbury Woods beauty spot into the annual competition held by the WWT and was delighted to have his picture chosen to be the image for September.
Robin told The Standard: “I had been waiting for a suitable misty morning for some weeks and couldn’t believe my luck when the sun briefly shone through the mist and created the rays.”
More than 50 photographers entered the contest giving the judges a very difficult task to whittle it down to the final 12 main images. Sixteen runners-up will have their photographs included as smaller insets.
WWT’s competition organiser Wendy Carter added: “We’re so lucky in Worcestershire not just to live in a beautiful place but to also have so many fantastic photographers who capture our wildlife and wild places.
“We believe we’ve got another great calendar this year that shows off our county at its best and will hopefully take pride of place on walls throughout Worcestershire and beyond.”
The calendar is available to buy from the trust’s offices or online shop for just £7 with all proceeds going directly go support the charity’s work protecting Worcestershire’s wildlife.
