WITH cocktails in hands, members of Droitwich Spa Art Club launched its summer art exhibition at the town’s library on Saturday, September 3.
The group had spent months painting, drawing and sketching portraits and landscapes for the display, which will run until the end of September.

Celia Haddock, the Chairman of the Droitwich Spa Art Club, wanted to do something which would ‘bring the club back to life’ after activities were ‘paralysed’ during the pandemic.
She said: “So how do we rebuild what we had – do we rebuild by gently crawling along hoping to survive?
“That wasn’t the view of Tina, who was our amazing curator of the exhibition.
“She decided not to crawl gently along in order to rebuild our club but to gallop at break-neck speed with an exhibition.”

The exhibition has 45 paintings on display, with some of the pieces for sale.
The Art Club has been a place for like-minded people to draw and paint for the past 20 years.
The group meet every Monday between 10am and midday.
