THE DROITWICH Spa community choir is starting rehearsals for a concert of popular music from the past six decades.
The free concert will take place at Droitwich Baptist Church on March 25 and there will also be refreshments available.
During the concert, the choir will be accepting donations to the Acorns Children’s Hospice Trust and are looking to match their totals from recent years, with the concerts usually bringing in over £1,000 for the charity.
The choir held a dozen performances at local care homes last year, along with festivals such as a “Last Night of the Proms” for the Saltfest.
They also sang the song commissioned for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee at the lighting of the Droitwich beacon and gave a festive concert for the Town’s Christmas lights switch-on.
Anyone who enjoys singing can join rehearsals at the Baptist Church in Ombersley Street on Tuesday evenings at 7.30pm.
The choir welcomes all voices with no rehearsals required, but they particularly need tenors and basses.
