AS WINTER creeps in and the days get darker and colder, people in Droitwich might be finding it harder to socialise and make friends.
That’s why local charity, Droitwich Spa CVS, have compiled a list of community organisations in the town who are offering a warm welcome at various weekly or monthly events.
Here’s a day by day list of all of the events people can attend. Each social space will either be free or require a small donation to visit.
Sunday
- On the second Sunday of every month, St Vincent de Paul hosts their ‘cuppa, cake and chat’ event at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Hall from 2.30pm to 4.30pm.
Monday
- Every week at Westmead Day Centre a community breakfast club is held from 10am to 12 noon.
- At Droitwich Baptist Church there is a welcome space for a drink and a chat from 10.30am to 12.30pm.
- On the first Monday of the month, Ruby Mondays letter writing group takes place from 10am to 12 noon at Droitwich Library.
- Community meals are held at the Sacred Catholic Church Hall. For dates call 01905 773 258.
Tuesday
- St Andrew’s Parish Centre invites people to their Tuesdays Together event for a light lunch and hot drink, every week from 12 noon to 2pm.
Wednesday
- A friendship group is held every week by The Salvation Army from 10am to 12 noon.
- Every week during term time, the Westlands Community Centre hosts weekly coffee and company events from 1pm to 2pm.
- Droitwich Methodist Church is home to a coffee morning every week from 10.30am to 12 noon.
- On the second Wednesday of every month, Droitwich CVS hosts their coffee mates event from 2pm to 4pm at The Old Library, Droitwich.
- On the fourth Wednesday of every month, Droitwich Methodist Church hosts their craft, games and chat afternoons from 2pm to 4pm.
Thursday
- At Emmanuel Church there is a weekly drop-in coffee and games session from 10am to 12 noon.
- The Salvation Army hosts a weekly friendship and games morning from 10amk to 12 noon.
Friday
- Mr Corbett’s Coffee Shop kicks off rom 10.30am until 11.30 am every week at Droitwich Library.
Other social spaces

- Droitwich Library now has extended opening hours (8am-8pm Mon-Sat) due to the Libraries Unlocked service, where people can study, read, and meet others.
