DROITWICH Spa High School is among many experiencing infrastructure improvements thanks to government funding across the West Midlands.
The school received funds to replace windows throughout the school, making the building warmer and more energy efficient.
The investment was part of government cash totalling £1.8billion, announced for the 2024/25 academic year to enhance schools and sixth form colleges across England.
A Droitwich Spa High School spokesperson said: “The window replacement scheme at DSHS has had a huge positive impact on our school.
“The site is warmer and also we don’t have to deal with condensation in the winter.
“It is also much easier for us to regulate the temperature and our energy bills have fallen considerably, giving us more money to spend on positive things for the children.”
In total, 74 schools in the West Midlands will directly benefit from over £38.6million allocated through the Condition Improvement Fund (CIF).
In addition to structural improvements, the funding will also cover the modernisation of ICT equipment and playground upgrades.
Schools Minister Damian Hinds said: “We want every child to realise their potential and great school buildings are just one part of our work to drive up standards across the education system – with more pupils in good and outstanding schools than ever before.”
