DROITWICH SPA High School is currently busy getting ready for its annual spring concert which takes place on Wednesday (April 5) at 7pm, writes Elinor Joinson.
Staff and students will present an enjoyable evening of ‘musical entertainment’ in the school’s own theatre.
The talented teenagers will showcase music from a variety of genres and in a number of different styles, including performances from the school jazz band, choir ensemble, pop and gospel choir, madrigal choir and the ukulele ensemble among other groups and soloists.
The high school’s head of creative arts Nick Wardle said “The spring concert, following on from the creative arts showcase in December, is one of the highlights of our year.
“It gives our young musicians a platform to show the results of all their hard work and creativity and we look forward to welcoming parents, staff and members of the public to what will be, I hope, a memorable evening.”
Tickets, at £2.50 for adults and £1 for concessions, are available from the school reception or, if there is space remaining, on the door.
Future musical events by the school will include a performance by the madrigal and gospel choirs at The Hive in Worcester on June 28 as part of the Worcestershire Schools Festival, while the music department’s community concert will take place in the gardens of St Andrews Church, as part of the Droitwich Arts Festival, on July 15, from 2pm to 5pm.
