THE FIRST meetings of Droitwich Spa Town Council since the lockdown began take place this evening, using a telephone conference system.
Due to Covid-19, five meetings have been cancelled, including the Town Meeting in March, planning, resources committee and full council in April, the annual council meeting in May and last Monday’s grants appraisal get-together.
Tonight at 6pm the planning committee, community and amenities committee and resources committee meetings will be held.
And next Monday, June 15, the full council (annual accounts) meeting is set to be held in the same way.
The Standard had been contacted by a resident who was concerned the authority’s members had not met since March.
Other councils across Worcestershire, including Bromsgrove District, Wychavon District, Malvern Hills and Redditch, have opted to hold virtual meetings using video conferencing tools, such as Zoom and YouTube.
