BLAKEMORE Retail’s Droitwich SPAR has relaunched its store on a brand new site, creating five new jobs in the area.
The shop, which now also offers dailyDeli food-to-go, was officially opened on Blake Avenue on November 30 by children from Chawson First School.
As well as the dailyDeli hot and cold food and fresh Costa Coffee machine, the store has been updated to provide a wider range of food-to-go options for consumers.
The store also houses a fresh in-store bakery, along with off-licence services and everyday essentials such as bread, milk, fresh fruit and vegetables.
The new site is situated in the centre of the housing estate, making it more convenient for people to use, offering free parking and longer opening hours – from 6am to 11pm.
The SPAR also offers CollectPlus, PayPoint and National Lottery services as well as a free to use cash machine.
The food-to-go department has led to the five jobs being created, taking the total staff to 20.
Area manager Donna Cooper said: “We really hope the local community enjoys the new store as much as we do.
“We are very excited about the new hot and cold food-to-go range, which is freshly produced daily on site.
“We also now offer a top of the range Costa Coffee machine (which makes tea as well) along with a more extensive range of both fresh and grocery products so customers can get all they need from us whatever their shopping mission.
“We are proud that the store has some eco-friendly features, meaning that SPAR Droitwich can continue to provide excellent customer service whilst also conserving energy.”
The store has been fitted with energy saving motion censored LED lighting throughout as well as glass fronted chillers and solar panels to help reduce the energy used in store.
A defibrillator has also been fitted at the entrance to the store, ready for any future local emergency.
