Droitwich Specsavers urge all to support foodbank

Droitwich Editorial 29th Jun, 2015 Updated: 17th Oct, 2016   0

STAFF at Droitwich Specsavers are urging members of the community to donate any tinned or packaged goods to help the town’s foodbank.

From now until July 24 a trolley will be located at the front of the store, in St Andrew’s Square, for staff to collect donations.

Store director Emma Singh said: “We have always thought the foodbank collection was a great local cause to help as it serves people in need in our town during these tough times.

“Shoppers may wish to bring ingredients they don’t use from their homes or pick up an extra tin during their weekly shop – just one item goes a long way.”

The appeal is designed to strengthen the work done by Droitwich Spa foodbank, part of the Trussell Trust foodbank network, which provides families experiencing temporary financial difficulties with much-needed food parcels.
