Droitwich Tennis Club holds its first ever visually impaired tennis session

DROITWICH Tennis Club has held its first ever session for visually impaired players.

The class used a slightly different court layout and specially designed sound balls.

The equipment was partially funded by a grant from the Droitwich Lions.

Neil Bates, from the club, said the equipment enabled players to use their combined senses to locate and connect with the ball which made for some great tennis.

“It’s really great to involve people from across the community in sport and making tennis available to as many players as possible.

“The generosity of Droitwich Lions in this case has helped us unlock even more sporting potential from within the town.”
