SPA residents interested in space can go to a free event being held at the town’s Gardener’s Arms pub tomorrow (Saturday).
The Space Day, which will feature talks for UN Space Week by Dr Gaby Povan and author Robin Brand, takes place from 1.45pm to 4.30pm.
Dr Povan from the University of Leicester, Radio and Space Plasma Physics Group, the Department of Physics and Astronomy, will talk about the work of her group and Aurora.
Mr Brand wrote Britain’s First Space Rocket – The Story of the Skylark and will be speaking about the Skylark sounding Rocket. He will also have a small stock of books for those who want a signed copy.
The event has been organised by the West Midlands branch of the British Interplanetary Society and anyone wanting to go along need to visit http://www.bis-space.com/whats-on and register by filling in the form so the organisers know how many are attending.
