THE PRICE of bus fares from Droitwich to Worcester has come under fire after a return ticket almost doubled.
First Worcester raised the price for a return journey to £8 – a price jump of ‘almost 100 per cent’ – now deemed as a big expense with the cost of living on the rise.
One regular bus user said: “The Droitwich return to Worcester was £4.10, and now it is £8.”
Another added: “I’ll go by train then – £8 for a journey time of 25 minutes is incredible.”
First Worcester also announced the new fare would be available at all times as the current off-peak return has been withdrawn.
Despite the changes, First Worcester said on Twitter the price was still cheaper than two single tickets.
The Standard has approached First Worcester for a comment.
