ESSENTIAL maintenance work is being carried out at Droitwich Spa War Memorial.
The cast iron planters, which have suffered age-damage over time, have been taken away to be restored and will be returned in time for the spring and summer planting.
At the same time, some of the paving in the area has become raised and uneven, due to being pushed up by tree roots and tarmac needs replacing because of ‘wear and tear’.
Worcestershire County Council Highways are undertaking those works which are needed to ensure public safety.
It is anticipated all will be completed in around four weeks.
The update was provided at last night’s Droitwich Town Council meeting.
