Droitwich Town Council sets its charges for room hire and allotments for next year

THE FEES and charges for allotments and room hire in Droitwich Town Council’s buildings were agreed by members on Monday (December 7).

Allotment plots at Chawson Lane, Copcut Park and Westwood Lodge will be £33-a-year from April 1, 2016. Half plots at Westwood Lodge are available for £22 as are plots at Vines Lane, which has no water supply.

Senior citizens and those registered disabled can get a £5 reduction.

When it comes to room hire, the main hall in the Community Hall, Heritage Way, will be £20 per hour or £150 for a full day (including evening). The charges for the John Corbett Room will be £15 per hour or £90 per day (including evening) and the small meeting room will be £10 and £60.




The council chamber in St Richard’s House will be £25 per day or £150 for a full day (including the evenings) and £100 for a wedding, which is payable in advance.

There will also be a 20 per cent reduction for registered charities on all the rooms.


The 2016/17 budget for band concerts will be £5,000 to enable the current season of events to continue, the grants budget for projects that residents and groups apply for will be set at £6,000 – the maximum available for each application will be £500 or, in very exceptional circumstances, £1,000.
