Droitwich trainee does everyone proud

A DROITWICH trainee has been recognised for outstanding achievement, effort and determination in his Two Counties Training.

Paul Breakspear was named Learner of the Year 2014/15 by the Droitwich Spa and Rural Council for Voluntary Service (DCVS).

He joined a traineeship course at DCVS in September 2014, with the aim of improving his maths, English and employability skills and progressing onto an apprenticeship.

He achieved all of his learning goals while on a six-month programme at the Old Library Centre in Droitwich, which has helped him secure an apprenticeship place with Olpro – a specialist camping and outdoor equipment distributor, in Little Whitley.

The course is run by Worcestershire County Council and delivered by DCVS, offering a range of qualifications and training to those aged 16-18.

They are aimed at young people from a wide range of areas, who are not sure what to do next, acting as a stepping stone towards a better future.

Tutors at DCVS said Paul really deserved the award, not only for his hard work and determination, but also for his work inspiring other young people there.

One added: “We are all very proud of him. Well done Paul.”
