Droitwich Walking Netball Group 'hooping' to net new members

Droitwich Editorial 29th Sep, 2022   0

A GROUP of women who meet in Droitwich every Thursday morning to play walking netball are hoping more will come forward to join them, writes Holly Clement.

The friendly group, which currently has 15 members, gets together at 10am at Droitwich Leisure Centre with sessions running for an hour and usually a coffee and a chat afterwards.

Walking netball – as the name suggests – is a slower version of the popular game, enabling participants to stay fit, have fun and make friendships.

Some members also went to watch the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games netball matches together.

Sometimes the group takes part in competitions but it is not in a league.

It is open to all abilities – from those who have never played netball to participants who want to get back into the sport.

The group is more about socialising whilst staying active.

Anybody wanting to join is more than welcome.

Each session is £5 per person.
