A GROUP of women from Worcestershire and Herefordshire put on an artistic swimming show for friends and families.
The women, including some from Droitwich and Worcester, have called themselves the ‘Synchro Stingrays’ and performed in a lake near Leigh Sinton.
The routines were choreographed to two classics – Kate Bush’s Wuthering Heights and It’s Raining Men.
The budding mermaids, all novices, we brought together by swim coach and former dancer Ray Farr who started the classes at Escape to the Lake.
After weekly practices the group decided to show off their skills at a gathering on Monday night.
Ray said: “I am so proud of what this group has achieved over just a few weeks as the lake is deep and they have completed some complex moves, including a lift.
“The ladies, whose ages span more than 30 years, have not only built up their fitness but we have had so much fun and firm friendships have been made.”
Synchro StingRays want to continue their sessions in the winter and are looking a for suitable venue, between Herefordshire and Worcestershire, to practise their moves.
