DROITWICH Working Men’s Club and Workies FC have raised £1,563 for Acorns Children’s Hospice.
The cash was raised from a charity event held at the end of January which featured a tabletop sale, fun family activities, a tombola and a raffle with prizes donated by local firms.
Workies FC coach Chris Elt was also put in the stocks to raise cash and there will be a fancy dress disco with a blue and orange theme – the colours of the Acorns logo.
Tony, a volunteer from Acorns, came to meet with members and to explain how the cash would be spent.
Last year Acorns provided 400 hydrotherapy sessions, 800 short breaks and made 4,000 contacts with families to offer support to families.
Chris said: “Droitwich Working Men’s club and Workies FC are proud to be supporting Acorns with this important work and will be doing more fund-raising projects soon.”
