Droitwich's Age UK to hold open day to celebrate its move to community centre

Droitwich Editorial 23rd Jun, 2017   0

AN AGING Well Open Day organised by the Droitwich branch of Age UK will take place between 10am and 1pm tomorrow to celebrate the charity’s relocation of its Information and Advice Service to The Olive Branch Community Centre.

There will be a host of other charities, community groups and partner organisations there, including the Droitwich Spa Council for Voluntary Service, Simply Health, Droitwich Spa Fair Trade Group, Droitwich Spa Knitting Group, Julie’s Pantry, Droitwich Spa Older People’s Forum, Worcestershire Association of Carers, Droitwich Spa Food Bank, West Mercia Police, Herefordshire and Worcestershire Fire and Rescue Service and Barclays Bank. The Mayor of Droitwich Spa, Coun Shaun Best, will attend the Open Day from 12pm.

The service on Winnetts Lane and Ombersley Street East provides comprehensive information, advice and practical support to disabled adults and people over 50, their carers and families in Droitwich and the surrounding area. It dealt with 1,400 enquiries last year and helped residents apply for £340,000 of benefits.

The opening hours of the Olive Branch Community Centre are between 10am and 1pm Monday, Wednesday and Thursday.
