A VIRTUAL London Marathon ran around Droitwich and Worcester has taken Kelly Tidbury’s total for Children With Cancer UK to almost £4,000.
The instructor who runs Kelly’s Home From Home Fitness completed her 26.2miles in six hours and 20 minutes.
Fourteen-year-old Emma Durose ran her first half-marathon in three hours, nine minutes as part of the event.
There were 14 runners in total undertaking different stretches to ensure – in keeping with social distancing regulations – there were only ever six people running together.
Kelly was originally due to take part in London in April but it was cancelled because of the Coronavirus pandemic – instead on that same day she ran 26.2miles on the treadmill.
She was also ready to take it on last Sunday but again it was postponed so she organised the virtual event around Droitwich and Worcester.
She said: “Emma did amazingly well. I was feeling it around the 17-mile mark but kept going.
“Thank you to everyone who supported us.”
