Droitwich’s Legion Club welcomes new manager

THE NEW manager of Droitwich’s Legion Club has spoken about how he wants the venue to become a community hub for the town and the groups within it.

Richard Scott, who has previously run the Red Lion and Dodford Inn in Bromsgrove, has been at the helm since the end of February.

He said: “Many people mistakenly think you have to be a member to use the club, but that’s not the case – there are no entrance fees or signing in, people can just come in as they would a pub – everyone is welcome.”

The Legion already has dominoes and skittles teams based there and will be adding darts teams in

Richard also wants to build it back up as a music venue and it can host functions, such as weddings, birthdays, anniversaries or funerals.

There are local ales on from Cannon Royal and guest ales from other local breweries, including Teme Valley and Kinver.

It still holds all the Droitwich Royal British Legion’s meetings and other events and Richard has invited any other community groups to get in touch if they also want to meet there.
