DROITWICH’S SPArkles WI have created a ‘rubbish’ tree for this year’s Christmas Tree Festival at St Andrew’s Church.
Members of the craft club have been busy making decorations all from recycled material, including lolly sticks, jigsaw pieces and bits of sunglasses.
There are even reindeers made from corks.
As well as reducing waste and encouraging recycling the theme reflects the national WI’s support of the Climate Change campaign.
Cheryl Walton, who runs Sparkles WI craft club, said: “We had great fun being creative and everything on our tree, except the lights, has been recycled.
“But although it’s rubbish, our tree definitely still SPArkles – come and see for yourselves.”
SPArkles WI meets at Spectrum Days on the first Thursday of each month.
