DROITWICH’S SPArkles WI have marked World Mental Health Day by ‘saying it with flowers’ and spreading some blooming joy throughout the town.
Overnight, 20 bunches of flowers were put in a variety of places throughout Droitwich town centre for unsuspecting residents to find on WMHD, this morning.
Last year the group did the same thing and were overwhelmed with the feedback they received from people who picked up the blooms.
This year the theme is ‘suicide prevention’.
Vice-president Anne-Marie Harley said: “It was amazing to see people, on Facebook particularly, post their reactions to finding a bouquet and how it really cheered them up.
“And it was such a simple gesture which could have actually made a difference to someone’s day.”
SPArkles WI meets the first Thursday of each month at Spectrum Days.
Their October meeting saw a visit from Dom Pickerill from Calm and Focus who shared relaxation tips including belly breathing and tapping.
