A DROITWICH pre-school has been given a £1,000 donation to repair its outdoor play area after it was vandalised last year.
St Peter’s Pre-school, a small charity run school that relies solely on donations and parents’ contributions, was given the funds by Persimmon Homes South Midlands.
The funds will ensure the artificial grass in the outdoor area will be repaired and will provide the children with a new climbing frame and Wendy house which also suffered damage.
Pre-school manager Trudie Harris said: “All the staff and committee at St Peter’s Pre-school would like to express our heartfelt thanks to Persimmon Homes for their kind donation.
“With a strong focus on outdoor play and education these new facilities will be invaluable to the pre-school and I’m sure the children will enjoy them for many years to come.”
The grant comes as part of the house builder’s Community Champions scheme to help charities and community groups in the communities in areas it is building.
Carol Selway, Persimmon Homes South Midlands’ sales director, said: “Backing St Peter’s Pre-school with their outdoor play project was very important to us as it was sadly vandalised last year.
“We wanted to help in any way we could and are sure that the £1,000 will be put to good use.”
She said there was a great response to the appeal for applicants for the Community Champions Scheme and it was difficult to pick a cause to support.
