Droitwich's young people urged to showcase their skills at the W Factor auditions

Droitwich Editorial 9th Jan, 2019   0

YOUNG people across Droitwich are being urged to showcase their skills at the audition for this year’s W Factor, writes Bethany Lewis.

The annual competition is organised by Wychavon District Council and is open to those aged 11 to 18.

Among the categories as dance, drama, music, singing (solo or group), DJ-ing and music production and comedy.

Town youngsters can audition at 5.30pm on Tuesday, January 15, at Droitwich Spa High School.

The selected finalists will get to perform at the professional showcase final at the Number 8 Arts Centre, Pershore, on March 18.

The winner will receive training from professional artists and be given the chance to perform at local events throughout the summer.

Tracy Grubb from Wychavon District Council said over the years the competition has been brilliant for developing young artists.

“It’s been great at helping those taking part to develop their confidence and build a strong personality, which will hopefully help them as they pursue their careers.”
