Drumming up support for new Samba and African sessions in Droitwich

Droitwich Editorial 19th Feb, 2017   0

DROITWICH youngsters can feel the African and Samba beats at special drumming and percussion workshops being held in the town after half-term.

Organised by Wychavon District Council’s Taking Part programme the sessions will take place at Wands Children’s Centre on Wednesdays, running for six weeks from 3.30pm to 4.15pm on March 1.

The upbeat and lively workshops are being ran by Karen and Nick Ledbury, providing a great way to have fun and relax after a day at school or work.

They are also a brilliant way for families to spend time together without it costing a lot – each session is £1.50 per adult and one child and an extra 50p per child after that.

Jenny Davis, Wychavon’s Arts Development Officer, said: “This is our second series of workshops that takes the arts out to areas where little activity is happening.”

Working in partnership with Wychavon District Council, Action for Children will also provide a baby area with suitable toys in the room where the workshops are happening so that families with young babies can also attend.
