Escaped horses in Droitwich reined in by pony-loving police

DROITWICH Police solved a cantering conundrum earlier when several horses in the town made a break for freedom.

The Safer Neigh-bourhood Team officers became ‘clip coppers’ as they jumped into action.

Although the old adage is ‘you can lead a horse to water but you can’t make it drink’, this tenacious team worked together to get these nomadic nags back home safely.

There were no long faces (apart from the horses’) as the officers used teamwork and patience and were in their hay day as they got the job done and made sure their subjects were not at large furlong.

Posting these pictures on Facebook, they said: “We thank the community (especially the Norris family) for slowing down to give our four-legged friends some space while we handled the the “neigh-bourhood patrol”

No doubt this will be a tail they will be trotting out to their colleagues when they get back to their stable.
