AN OPEN afternoon to shed light on the Droitwich Spa Royal British Legion branch will be held at the town’s Community Hall, Heritage Way, next Saturday, September 21.
The event, from 2pm, will enable visitors to chat over tea and cake in the John Corbett Room.
People do not have to be a member of the legion to go along and do not need to have served in the armed forces – everyone, young and old, is welcome.
Droitwich branch chairman Alan Humphries said “The Legion has always been a big part of the community, but since our club shut we’ve not had a central point where people can meet or find out what the Legion does.
“This will also give us a chance to help combat loneliness and isolation which is a growing problem.”
