THE ‘well loved’ and ‘greatly missed’ Droitwich artist Graham Wilson will have an exhibition of his work at the Kingfisher Shopping Centre.

Graham, who passed away last November, will have over 100 of his paintings on display during September 23 and 25.

Jenny Wilson, who was married to Graham for 54 years, said that his artwork showed his funny and quirky sense of humour.

She said: “It was a shame to have all these paintings and not have an exhibition.

“Graham always intended for his art to be sold, and if I didn’t do anything, I think they would just be thrown away after I go.”

The exhibition has been put together by Jenny and the Droitwich, Redditch and Leamington art clubs.

Despite being colour blind, Graham’s work featured loads of colour, and he was known for his seaside landscapes and caricatures.

The Chair of Droitwich Arts Network, Helen Karakashian, said that his work brings daily sunshine into her life and even though Graham is greatly missed, ‘his art lives on’.

His work features a range of acrylic, oil, and mixed media, which helped help convey a story in his artwork.

The artist was a well-known character across many of the art communities within Worcestershire and ran demonstrations.

“Graham was a very talented and gifted artist but also a charismatic character with charm and compassion for everyone,” said Lynda Sharp, a good friend and colleague of Graham.

She added: “He was a great friend to me, my husband and all those that knew him and held a wealth of knowledge in many schools – we will always miss Graham a true gifted friend.”
