STAFF from a Droitwich-based pet food business were joined by their furry four-legged friends as part of ‘Bring Your Dog to Work Day’, writes Scarlett Brunning.

Fish4Dogs, based in Rushock, has enjoyed the company of its staff’s dogs in the workplace which is a big part of the business as it sponsored the 2018 ‘Bring Your Dog to Work Day’.

The company has had a dog-friendly policy throughout the year since its establishment 12 years ago.

To support the campaign the staff all wore T-shirts with their dogs’ names on whilst on their lunchtime stroll to raise awareness of the charity event which raises funds for All Dogs Matters.

At the head office in Rushock, where the staff has now increased from 30 to 42 members, employees ensure all their furry friends are happy and well provided for throughout the day.

However, research illustrates it is not just the dogs who benefit from being in the workplace –  studies show it can increase productivity and well-being, as well as reducing stress levels. Other benefits include increasing job satisfaction, cooperation and team enthusiasm.

It has also been beneficial to the company as staff turnover is dramatically below the average.

Even CEO Graham Smith – who has a springer spaniel named Sadie – brought his canine companion in for the day.

He said: “We always have dogs around the office but it was really nice to have 16 regular attendees here at the same time.”
