FAMILIES are being urged to explore the great outdoors at the Spooky Spells Welly Walk at Lower Smite Farm on Monday, October 28.

Children will be able to find out more about the natural world around them as they follow a trail, looking for ingredients to complete their spells.

The event has been organised by the Worcestershire Wildlife Trust which owns the site in between Droitwich and Worcester.

Event organiser Sadie Carr Simons said: “Although autumnal colours are beautiful, we all need a bit of an excuse to pull on our coats and wellies and head outside at this time of year.

“We’re encouraging families to come and discover conkers, acorns and other autumn treasures of the natural world.”

Children will have wands they can turn into a wonderful autumn decoration to take home and feed the birds.

The trail, suitable for four to 11-year-olds, will take participants through the wildlife garden, orchard and woodland to the pond.

Youngsters will be tasked with looking for leaves, pine cones, conkers, burdock and more.

The welly walk runs between 11am and 3pm and is £2 per child.

There is plenty of free parking at the site.
