A FEMALE business founder in Droitwich has shared her delight after being recognised in Dragon’s Den star Theo Paphitis’ Small Business Sunday scheme.
Rachel Davis is the founder of RT Social, a Droitwich based social media training business, who recently found herself named among five other small companies being recognised by the retail magnate and entrepreneur.
Theo Paphitis’ Small Business Sunday scheme encourages founders and owners to describe their businesses in one single post or sentence, thereby showcasing their creativity and passion.
Successful entrants will join the esteemed Small Business Sunday community which offers access to a network of over 4,000 small business owners and exclusive events and opportunities.
She told the Standard: “I’m really pleased to be joining the #SBS winners.
“I’m eager to connect with the other entrepreneurs and see how we can support each other’s growth. This kind of recognition is a welcome milestone, and I’m grateful to Theo Paphitis and the team for the opportunity.”
In her post to Theo, Rachel said she was on a mission to ’empower business owners to take control of their own social media with confidence.’
She wants to prevent social media becoming overwhelming and confusing and provide mentorship, training and practical support to help entrepreneurs ‘ditch the fear, gain clarity, and develop a strategy’.
Rachel concluded her post by thanking Theo for ‘championing small businesses.’
Small Business Sunday, launched by Theo Paphitis in 2010, has become a powerful platform for small businesses to gain exposure, forge connections, and learn from industry leaders.
He added: “My vision is that everyone who has ever won an #SBS re-tweet from me becomes part of a friendly club. Like-minded individuals can share successes and learnings.
“This website will give a valuable profile to the winners chosen to date and should help those who have not yet won but want some tips on how to do so.
“I know I have been lucky in business and I am keen now to spread goodwill to others, of course not forgetting that very often, you make your own luck by making use of every opportunity.”
Businesses can enter the competition by tweeting @TheoPaphitis between 5pm and 7.30pm on Sundays. Entries can also be made on Instagram and LinkedIn.
