FIRE crews have been tackling an agricultural building blaze in Salwarpe.
Three Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crews – two from Droitwich and one from Worcester Fire Stations – plus the water carrier from Evesham were called at 05:45 on Thursday, November 23.
They found a single-storey barn containing around 150 tonnes of hay and straw completely alight.
The building was attached to a single-storey storage unit, 40m by 5m, which was 60 per cent damaged, while a large marquee was also severely damaged.
No one died as a result of the fire and no other emergency services attended.
The incident was sectorised with the fire fought using two main jets and one hose reel supplied from a hydrant.
Water and electrics were isolated to the affected buildings and farm machinery was used to drag out the contents.
Dampening down took place during the day with a further re-inspection at 8pm and the incident was marked as pending closure just under an hour later.
