FIVE PEOPLE were arrested and a quantity of drugs were recovered after police raided a house in Droitwich on Wednesday.

A total of 15 officers, including some from the Droitwich Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT), were involved in the swoop, on the property in Bays Meadow at lunchtime.

Of the five held, two of them – a man and a woman – were released on bail.

The other three were still in custody yesterday (Thursday) as The Standard went to press.

The substances seized in the raid have now been sent off for analysis, but they are suspected to be class A drugs.

Sgt Sarah Kent, from Droitwich SNT, said the operation was intelligence led and thanked the community for coming forward with the information.

And she urged anyone else who had any suspicions about drug dealing going on in their area to call Droitwich Police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
