Flurry of Christmas events including tree festival to find the last £20k for the Stoke Prior Tower Fund

Droitwich Editorial 1st Dec, 2019   0

A STOKE Prior church will continue to hold events throughout the busy Christmas period as it continues its race against time to raise funds for its Tower Appeal.

St Michael and All Angels was renovated in the 19th century by Droitwich Salt King John Corbett but the building, especially the tower, has fallen into a dangerous state of disrepair with severe structural damage.

A fund-raising campaign for the Grade I listed church was launched in 2015 and now less than £20,000 is needed by the end of the year to unlock £333,000 worth of National Lottery Heritage funding.

The next events for the appeal will be the church’s Christmas Tree Festival from next Saturday, December 7, to January 5. And on December 14 an interactive craft day. Entrance will be free but the church is hoping visitors will donate.

Anyone wanting to organise fund-raising events or donate to the cause can call Gary on 07846 561370 or send cheques, made payable to ‘Stoke Prior Tower Appeal’ to him at 15 Bredon Road, Bromsgrove B61 7HD.
