POPULAR folk band Red Shoes will perform at Droitwich’s Gardeners Arms at 9pm on Saturday, November 18.

The three piece features Carolyn Evans and Mark Evans (both vocals) and Nigel King on guitars.

The band wrote a song Salters Screen about the former Droitwich cinema which is now the library as part of Worcestershire County Council’s ‘Lending an Ear’ project.

Red Shoes released their latest double album in September entitled It Isn’t Over Yet.

It features bassist Dave Pegg (Fairport Convention, Jethro Tull and The Dylan Project), fiddler Ric Sanders (Fairport Convention), drummer Rob Mason (Jim Capaldi, Steve Winwood, Robert Plant) and singer and dobro player Joe Brown.

Carolyn said: “We wanted to play Droitwich because it is local to us and people will be able to hear the song on Saturday we wrote about the town.

“It seemed fitting.”
