A FORMER councillor of Droitwich Spa Town Council and her husband are set to be honoured with a prestigious award for their services to the town.

Residents are invited to a meeting at 6pm on Monday (April 30) at the Community Hall to celebrate Pam Davey being awarded Honorary Alderman of the Town and her husband Alan awarded Honorary Freeman of the Town.

In January, an Extraordinary Meeting of the Council was held to confer the title of Honorary Alderman upon Pam Davey in recognition of her services to the Town as an elected member of the council.

Her husband is also being recognised for his inspirational and unstinting service to the residents of Droitwich Spa.

Councillor Tom Noyes said: “I have known Pam since the early 1990’s and have always been impressed with her enthusiasm and thirst for knowledge.

“Her attendance record and involvement in the meetings she attended bear witness to this and is second to none.

“Always prepared to get involved and shoulder responsibility, Pam has been a great asset to the community and deserves this award.”

Councillor Alan Humphries agreed and said ‘Pam and Alan have given so much to Droitwich and I’m delighted in a small way to be part of a ceremony that honours all of their hard work.”
