Droitwich Editorial 14th May, 2023   0

FORMER Droitwich councillor Edgar Harwood will have the status of ‘Honorary Alderman of the Town’ conferred on him.

The title will be bestowed on Mr Harwood at an Extra-ordinary Meeting of Droitwich Town Council at the Community Hall at 5.45pm tomorrow (Monday).

Mr Harwood, who is also the Town Crier, is being made an Honorary Alderman in recognition of his eminent service to Droitwich Spa as a councillor and for his meritorious services to the town in both a civic and non-civic capacity.

The original proposal was made by former Coun Alan Humphries prior to the pandemic in March 2020.

The motion will now be proposed through the New Administration of the Town Council at the extra- ordinary meeting which precedes the annual meeting which takes place at 6pm.

The proposal is fully supported by members of both the previous and current administrations of Droitwich Town Council.

Anyone wanting to attend the auspicious occasion is welcome to this public meeting.

Call the Town Council Office on 01905 774258 for more information.
