Former Droitwich pub could make way for care home, bringing 70 jobs

Droitwich Editorial 4th Mar, 2018   0

THE FORMER Spring Meadow Pub on Mulberry Tree Hill in Droitwich could be bulldozed to make way for a new 70-bed care home, creating up to 70 new jobs.

Plans submitted by Frontier Estates Ltd for the home and car park will be heard by Wychavon District Council’s planning committee on Thursday.

The current part single, part two-storey structure, built in the 1980s, has been vacant since 2014 and the proposed care home will be spread across three floors, including a cafe, hair salon, cinema, activity space and gym.

The developers claim the build will bring around 70 full-time and part-time jobs in a range of positions from administration and maintenance to care and management.
