FORMER members of Droitwich Round Table have donated £120 to Acorns Children’s Hospice.

Now members of organisation Droitwich Spa 41 Club, the former tablers raised the cash at their recent ‘Bar-B-Que’ event.

Chairman David Drew said: “We had a very enjoyable day with wives and friends at the Bar-B-Que and are delighted to be able to donate the proceeds to such a worthy cause.”

Club member Patrick Davis met with Acorns’ area fundraiser, Carol Pratt, at the charity’s Droitwich shop to present the cheque.

Acorns Children’s Hospice provides specialist palliative care for life limited and life threatened children and young people across the West Midlands, as well as support for their families.

This support is offered from Acorns three hospices based in Worcester, Birmingham and Walsall and in the community.

It costs Acorns £27,000 per day to run its vital care and support services and the charity relies on generous donations and fundraising by the local community for the majority of this amount.

Acornshas over 50 shops on high street across the West Midlands, which play an important role in raising funds to help the charity continue its work.

If anyone who is ex-Round Table has moved into the area and lost touch then 41 Club can be contacted at www.41 Club.org or [email protected]
