GREEN-FINGERED local residents are eagerly awaiting the Fortis Living gardening competition awards ceremony, writes Tom Banner.

The ceremony, between 4.30pm and 6pm on Thursday, September 7, at The Sky Lounge in St John’s Cripplegate House, rewards residents who have worked tirelessly to keep their community looking beautiful.

Contestants will be competing to win first place in a number of categories including best front garden, best rear garden, best containers and hanging baskets, best communal garden and best planter. The winner of each category will receive £100 worth of gardening vouchers.

Gemma Boulton, Fortis’ communities and co-regulation manager, said “We are delighted to announce the date of this year’s garden competition awards ceremony. The quality of entrants this year has been outstanding and our judges had a tough job making their decisions.

“We look forward to the event which will celebrate all the hard work, dedication and commitment of our green fingered residents.”
