German twinned town to receive Droitwich flag to mark 40 year link

DROITWICH Spa Town Council will present a flag of the town crest to its twinned municipality, Bad Ems, in reciprocation of the 40th anniversary.

Mayor of Droitwich Spa will present the flag to a delegation from Bad Ems when they come to visit in June.

In September 2023, the twin town gifted Droitwich with a flag which included symbols of Bad Ems, the River Lahn and the Roman frontier running through the region, to honour the twinning’s 40th anniversary.

The towns have been linked since the signing of the twinning charter in 1983. The two twinning associations visit one another on alternate years to experience the regions’ differences in culture and heritage.

In the twinning associations most recent visit, around 35 Droitwich twinners travelled to Bad Ems for the first time since the pandemic to celebrate the anniversary in May 2023.
